The switch to an all-electric powertrain changes the rules of the game for many boat components. Fiberdaft develops solutions for optimized inherently electric boat concepts.
Even when retrofitting existing boat architectures, many adjustments are necessary to integrate an electric propulsion system.
Fiberdraft takes care of system engineering, design and component integration, simulation (mechanical, thermal, CFD), the layout of the electrical and electronic connections and circuit diagrams as well as prototype sample assembly.
Fiberdraft takes over the installation of subsystems in the vessel:
Battery system, e-drive or hybrid system, inverters, electrical and automation system incl. wiring harness, navigation equipment, steering and speed control, generators, battery chargers, thrusters, photovoltaic system, air condition system
Fiberdraft recommends drive systems from the following manufacturers:
With the Electric Drive for Marine (EDM), Bosch offers a complete plug-and-play system for quick and easy integration.
In addition, Bosch´s Electric Drive System Platform (EDSP) can be used to combine attractive complete drive systems with components from Bosch and selected third-party suppliers,
or the Bosch drive components are also available individually to create bespoke drive systems.
The voltage rating for all systems is either 400 volts or 800 volts.
No matter which option you choose, Fiberdraft will support you throughout the integration process for your specific project
As the name suggests, Rim Drive Technology offers a wide range of products characterised by a unique technology:
an electric motor that drives the propeller blades directly at their tips, rather than by a central shaft. This promises greater efficiency as well as reduced vibration and noise. The products are primarily, though not exclusively, designed for 48V systems and for medium speeds. The power range is from 0.5 up to 75 kW in following available configurations:
fixed PODs, steerable PODs, outboards and thrusters.
Our vessel installation team can support the necessary vessel and powertrain service activities.
